How many of you perform regular system maintenance on your systems? Do you defrag your hard drive on a regular basis? No. Do you know what fragmentation is and what defragging your system does does?
Fragmentation of your hard drive occurs when your operating system cannot or will not allocate enough contiguous space to store a complete file as a unit. Instead it puts bits and pieces of the file in gaps between other files. Large files and a increasing number of files only make this worse. As the hard drive becomes more and more fragmented, you may notice a decrease in your system performance.
Windows comes with a Tool called Defrag. It is located under Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. Running Defrag is notoriously SLOW – at least it always has been for me. For several years now I have been using a program called Diskeeper. When I first tried it on an older computer, it was slow. BUT I have been running Diskeeper 2010 with IntellWrite for quite some time and it runs quietly in the background with no noticeable decrease in my performance.
I was recently given a copy of Diskeeper 2011 to try before its release to the public.
Diskeeper 2011 offers IntelliWrite technology which prevents fragmentation of your hard drive even before it begins. It works quietly in the background and you should notice no decrease in performance. The new Instant Defrag feature of Diskeeper 2011 eliminates any fragmented data that may occur.
Would you like to have a NFR (Not for Resale) copy of Diskeeper 2011 and see for yourself how efficiently it works?
I have 3-5 copies of the latest version (NFR) available to be given away BEFORE it becomes available to the public. Thank you Derek from Diskeeper. All you have to do is head over to the Diskeeper Home Page and give me the name of one of the other products that Diskeeper Corporations sells. Fill in the contact form on this blog and give me your answer in the message field.
If you post a correct answer, I’ll put your name in a hat or bowl or whatever and draw the names. I will then pass your details to Derek at Diskeeper and he will forward the NFR copy to you. Don’t delay, enter now using the Contact Form on this blog. Good luck!
The official release date for Diskeeper 2011 is March 22, 2011.
