Adding functional and consistent navigation to your website is one of the most important things you can do both for your site visitor and the search engines. I came across this post today and thought it was a good resource.
The Primo Top 3 CSS Menu Sites & Generator’s Systems To Add A Stylish Navigation To Your Webpage lists what he considers the top three. They are:
- 13 Styles offers cross browser/lightweight menu’s that offer a variety of styles ranging from simple to elegant to fun.
- CSS Menumaker offers more menu’s that are utilizing a more graphic flair.
- CSS Play is the perverbial “Mother-Load” of every configuration imaginable… literally.
Choose one of the many menus and try it out on your current site OR you can download one of the free templates offered by Expression Web Tutorials and Templates and experiment with the various menus. Create a new website in Expression Web and import the template into your newly created site. Then choose one of the menus from the list above and add those files to the site. You will need to edit the css files and the html code to include/replace the new code with the old. Make sure to check the menu you use in more than one browser. Some of them will NOT work in IE6.
