Morten Rand-Hendriksen, a fellow MVP for Expression Web and author of Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Expression Web 2 and 3 in 24 Hours has added his latest tutorial Build a fancy author or profile box with Expression Web. Morten gives you step-by-step instructions for building the profile box including the code and css. You are then free to edit the css and/or code so that it works for you.
A profile box is a great way of quickly giving your visitors information about a person featured on your site. These boxes normally feature a quote or short biography followed by the person’s name, affiliation and maybe a photo and usually are just straight up blockquotes or something similar. In other words they are a bit boring. But there really is no reason why they should be: Text and images on the web can pretty much be displayed in any layout you want. All you need is the creativity to come up with a better way of displaying it and either the knowledge of CSS and HTML to get it done or a tool to help you along the way.
